Absolute Beginner's Guide To The Forum
Welcome to the "Absolute Beginner's Guide to the Small Business Ideas Forum!"

The purpose of this guide is to:

1. Help you understand the basics of the forum and how it operates.
2. Provide pointers on where you can find answers to your questions.

If there is anything that you'd like to see covered in this guide, please post a response to this thread so we know what should be added.

Let's get started. :)

1. Don't be afraid! Everyone was new to the forum at some point and didn't know what to do and had questions. We like newbies here!

2. Be sure and take a moment to read our forum rules. It will only take a minute or so and it will help you understand what's necessary to keep the forum a fun and productive community. You can find the rules here:

3. To learn about making your first post, read this thread:

4. To learn about setting up your signature file, read this thread:

5. For a glossary of terms used on the forum, read this thread:

6. For how to view your own posts and checking for replies:

7. For a list of frequently asked questions about how the forum works, visit this page:

As I mentioned earlier, this guide is just getting started so post your questions so I know what else to provide.

Have fun!!

How many posts require to activate signature links?
I read thread which provides details regarding signature links. But, I am quite confuse with following post.

The ability to create a signature file will only be available after a new member has made a few posts.

Is there any specific number for posts or not? Or totally based on admin decision??

Logan 28th May 2011 11:15 AM

Its not based on admin decision in that way. Its a random number so it isn't the same for all (throws off spammers) and it can change over time. A few means about 3 or so. It happens automatically based on number of posts "approved".

It becomes an admin decision that someone doesn't receive that functionality if they spam the forum... then i set the status so we all don't have to see the spam and eventually banned so I don't have to continually deal with that user spamming the forum.

Thanks for asking the question, I'm happy to explain whatever needed and I'm sure if you are asking others have wondered the same thing as well.
