The purpose of this guide is to:

1. Help you understand the basics of the forum and how it operates.
2. Provide pointers on where you can find answers to your questions.

If there is anything that you'd like to see covered in this guide, please post a response to this thread so we know what should be added.

Let's get started. :)

1. Don't be afraid! Everyone was new to the forum at some point and didn't know what to do and had questions. We like newbies here!

2. Be sure and take a moment to read our forum rules. It will only take a minute or so and it will help you understand what's necessary to keep the forum a fun and productive community. You can find the rules here:

As I mentioned earlier, this guide is just getting started so post your questions so I know what else to provide.

Have fun!!

I'm glad I read this again. One of the biggest hurdles I see on the forum pertain to item #1 on the list. It's the only item that wasn't addressed with more detailed information.

How about a guide on how to ask great questions? This would be very helpful. Many questions are vague, have no context, provide no background, and/or are requests for definitions. Ok, there's no need to write a book on what's been tried and all the details of every previous experience. What to do next?

How about a guide to getting the best possible answers? To get the best possible answer for any question, the inquirer needs to answer questions and provide some feedback on how think a response may or may not apply to their unique situation. Which brings up the next question.

How about a guide on how to provide great answers. The best answers include questions. Every business is different and even the location of the business can make a usually sound answer basically irrelevant. Again gaining the right amount of context is required to provide the most help.

General information is all over the Internet. What to do is everywhere. How to do it (in their situation) is what people want to know. They may not realize it, but they do.
