+1 regarding https. something I need to address with this site/forum as well.

In addition to https, also make sure you are on top of your site being mobile friendly. Google is updating things Apr 23 which will have an impact if you are not. See this:

My site does have a mobile version. I am no mobile expert but it appears to look pretty good. After I get more details hammered out on my website, I am going to look more into the mobile version.

Just do some double checking using Google's Mobile Friendly tool here

Default Mobile friendly vs Mobile version

I currently only use a smart phone, but prefer to use the full site version. Mobile friendly (IMO) is better. There may be some confusion on the differences.

So much talk about about the importance of mobile friendliness and search recently. Especially regarding Google's recent announcement.

I have worked a great deal with responsive website design and actually wrote what I'd like to think is a decent, informative article on mobile device friendly - responsive website design.

Hope it's somewhat informative and helpful to some. I'd like to make it the topic of a thread but don't want to be perceived as spamming my business.

I believe if you engage in an active conversation with the community about your topic, then it will add value. We won't bite. promise. ha.

Thanks. I agree and think those are very good guidelines.

I have added a more personal touch to my "the founder" page. I am wondering if I should put a story like this (if not this exact story) on my home page to immediately engage people on a personal level. I feel like most visitors arent going to get to "the founder" page and therefore not read the story. what are your thoughts? or should I leave the home page alone? (see www.krjinteractive.com/the-founder).

I enjoyed reading that. Good job! Definitely feels like I'm working with a person now.

Regarding the home page, it's hard to say isn't it? Here is my approach. Leave it as is until you finish every other page of the website to your satisfaction. Then use the home page to tie it all together highlighting your company's strengths. I do agree though, getting "you" into the home page of your site does play a role likely in the end.

I am working on getting back ground on the other people I work with. I have more of a team of "advisors" than I do full time employees.

Yeah I like where you guys are going with this. I agree with Logan, although your home page is critical, see what you can pull out of your other content to "feature" there. That's a very helpful approach with new sites.
