Amir - I agree with Torka completely. When I started out, I did not have access to the domain it was not in house and honestly it was a mess, we are not rebuilding it. For my purpose it was to get the main site noticed, and by linking in with keyword rich content and anchor text, it has slowly helped. It's not a fast process by any means..

But success story - the blog has brought in a great sales lead in the last two days.. I am hoping that it will go the distance and hear the cha-ching!

If you're researching the market, I don't think creating your own domain would be good idea. Why don't you use sites that will get you instant traffic, like tumblr, weebly and so on?
