Default StumbleUpon - What Are Your Experiences

Hits from Stumble

What type of traffic do you see from it?
What quality of traffic do you see from it?
How many reviews/stumbles do you have?

Thanks!

When my site got "stumbled" a couple of months ago I got traffic from all over the world. If my memory is correct, a few hundred page views in a day and then the traffic came to a halt. Most people actually viewed a few pages and did not bounce off of my site.

I "stumble" all of my blogs and listings. Check out del.icio.us.com.

If your site have some interesting/ufo/weird stuff, SU will bring more traffic to it.

Welcome to the forum. My experience is that getting your site stumbled upon isn't as straight forward as other online marketing. My suggestion is to just go ahead and try it and see what happens. Sign up, and then stumbleupon along your own website along with others you like and try to network with others who also stumble your site. The more you do it, the more likely others will come across it and you'll notice when others are picking up on it within your stats. Just jump in, sign up and give it a try.

Outside of the specific details, I have content that has been stumbledupon without my involvement. Creating great content/functionality and giving others a reason to pay attention will get you the farthest and stuff like stumbleupon and other sites picking you up will happen on its own without anything more.

My experience with traffic is that it is usually pretty substantial, but don't see anything much ever happen when it comes to any sort of conversions. High volume/low conversion. Usually it hits for a couple/few days then tapers off to nothing shortly after.

I read a good post comparing traffic from Digg & SU by Shoemoney. His findings showed that SU traffic had only a 37.71% bounce rate compared to 89.60% from Digg. I'm not sure if it's the same across different sites but it should shed some light on your questions.

I'm getting stubledupon now. (Go to stumbleupon.com, then go to the "computers" subcategory)

Yesterday google adsense says I got over 14K page views, but with a CTR of 0.15%. I don't think that crowd clicks on ads, rather I suspect they're young internet power users who tune out that kind of stuff.

rotfl. is that 21 out of 14000. I think so. I'm on their page for freelinks, and also see a rush of traffic here and there. I'm curious to know how long that traffic pattern stays in place for you since at a higher level category than most.

It's been in spurts since a few of days ago... One popular stumbleuponer added it, traffic roared in then dropped off, then the next day I see it roaring in again, etc... I think it coincides with users' friends adding the link to their collection, or something.

Thanks. Sounds to me like the typical pattern I see also, just higher numbers.
