New to blogging?

My first and biggest piece of advice - if you are planning on taking off with blogging or just want to try - invest in your own domain and do it from there.

I do agree sdk, and it probably can't be said enough. As with didi's blog in their signature link - taking the step at the very beginning (or as soon as possible) to get your blog under your own domain is very important. The reason is simple - because you then fully control it.

Good to see you were able to get yours switched

Thanks Logan,

It's switched and still getting good traffic, suffered the loss of a PR 4 - but I figured I will rebound and would have been in more of a world of hurt if I didn't get the other one off wordpress - I still have about 4 posts or so on wordpress while its redirecting.

I can't stress enough to new bloggers, get your own domain even if you try it at first for 3 months and find its not for you - what are you out the domain registration and 3 months of hosting. Big deal!

I wish I would have read more before jumping into the blog sandbox and just wanting to play right away!

Wordpress is a great tool for creating your own blog on your own domain. I'm in the process of setting one up for my site right now, but haven't added any content yet. I've been very interested to find out that blogging is so important for a business to have!

Default It's worth looking at why you want to blog, too.

It's not just for getting hits and so on... (well not necessarily )... we use ours not so much for getting traffic, or SEO etc. but rather for giving our potential clients a feel for what we're like and what we're about. That way, as-when-if they contact us they're much more likely to be 'warm'.

Good presentations need good presentations training... Or get some presentation tips by ebook.
