Default FTP Programs

What is everyone using? I am using SmartFTP and having some issues, and read on their forums several others that are as well.

I've heard FileZilla is great, I also like CuteFTP quite a lot, and if you have a mac CyberDuck is quite good too.

My vote goes to FileZilla too. For quick file transfers I also use the FireFTP extension for Firefox occasionally. FireFTP can be very handy if you have your browser open anyway and don't want to start a full-blown FTP program just to transfer a few files.

Default Smart FTP vs. Filezilla

Hi,

Filezilla is great. But i prefer to use Smart FTP. Smart FTP as it name goes, is the smartest of all FTP clients. The feature which is most loved in Smart FTP is the thumbnail view of images in the server and with one-click u can get those. U can upload and download files upto 3 GB. And most of all it is more secure than other programs.

My $ 29/95 or $ 39.95 CuteFTP sits gathering digital dust while Filezilla gets used many times a day. Filezilla ia much quicker.

I don't know, I tried SmartFTP a couple of years ago and it didn't seem all that smart to me I suppose it has improved since then, but I still don't see why I should pay for an FTP program if an excellent one like FileZilla is available for free.

How's that? What exactly do you mean by "more secure?"
