Default Printing Envelopes

Hello,

The ladies in my office seem to be unable to figure out a way to use our laser printers to print envelopes with teaser copy and/or the names and addresses from an excel file. Does this require a high IQ ? or is there a simple fix that they are overlooking ?

I laughed at that, I can't actually help you out but I do feel your pain.

Microsoft Word has a "MERGE" wizard that will step you through it - although different lazer printers have different number of envelopes that can be fed. SOme allow a stack - some are one at a time through the manual feed.

Hope this helps - good luck.

I know you're not going to want to hear this... I tried and tried.. and NEVER ever got my HP Laserjet 4 printers to run envelopes with any success. I am running labels and we just print the hell out of our envelopes!

Sorry... just thought you needed to know that you're not alone!

This is usually pretty easy.

In Microsoft Word Menus select:

Tools\Letters and Mailings

If you are merging the data with Excel select the "Mail Merge Wizard..." if you just want to create an envelope choose "Envelopes and Labels..."

It's not rocket science, but it does take some computer knowledge to do this. Have them play with the above and let us know if they have any further questions.

Really shouldn't be that hard, but there are some problems such as the envelopes getting wrinkled. Were you using standard #10 envelopes or some other size?

If you are having problems with the envelopes themselves, double check that they are appropriate for printing through your laser or inkjet printer. Using your standard office envelopes may cause creasing or jamming when printing.
