Default Catalog Design And Mailing

I create product catalogs predominately for ecommerce businesses. You can see my catalog designs here: http://www.catapros.com

I am thinking of offering a catalog suitable for direct mail and have a digest sized layout. Do you think this is a good size and ecommerce people would be interested? I read a case study about how Zappos.com really benefits from sending out quarterly catalogs.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I do catalog data processing and mailing.

Digest is a good format, but so is the larger format. Almost every cataloger I know does quite a bit of tracking to determine what is working and what is not. I would recommend testing both formats at some point.

The main difference from a mail perspective is the larger flat sized piece will have way higher postage, but does not have to be tabbed shut. The smaller digest piece will need three 1-1/2" tabs.

And yes.... catalogs work great with ecommerce.
