Now you've got me thinking...how do I spice it up?
First step, ask you current subscribers what else they would like to see in the newsletter. In the opening of the next newsletter, ask the readers to send their ideas. Perhaps have a prize for the best idea.
Look for content ideas from the email you receive from your customers. For example, do they ask gift buying questions, decorating questions, etc? If you have site search, look for what visitors are searching for.
Sign up for competitors newsletters to get ideas.
You could do brief product reviews and relevant book reviews.
Write or solicit articles. For example, I found an article about giving good business gifts:
This type of article would probably go over very well with your audience.
