Default Business Expense Ratios

As my business grows, so does my expenses. How do I know if my cost are in-line with my income? How do I know or find the appropriate ratios for my size of business? Does my question make sense, I'm having a hard time explaining what I'm trying to ask...thanks!

Management should routinely perform a ratio
analysis to measure the expense and income trends of their business.

Correct...but how do I know if my company ratio's are in-line with my industry? Is there a "rule of thumb"?

If you have an industry association of some sort (like the National Association of Realtors for Realtors, for example) they will likely have soe commonly used metrics that you can use.

Pick a solid public company in your industry and use their figures as a guide. These may be available in their annual reports.

It is best to have perfect financial plan put into action so as to get the best results. Reduction in production costs is a very good strategy that needs planning and perfect implementation.
