Default Domain Buying

I currently own clockspot.net. I want to buy clockspot.com but I can't get in touch with the owner. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Yeah, good luck trying to do that. I had the same thing happen with me. I was going to buy the .net, but decided to try and buy the .com first. The owner wanted such an outrageous price that I just changed my domain name altogether so I could get the .com and all. If I hadn't, I figured the chances were probably pretty good that someone might go to the .com address being that it's the most common and then I would lose that prospect.

Hope that doesn't happen to you..best of luck!

Whenever you are interested in purchasing a domain I highly recommend that you email them through a free based email account like Yahoo or Hotmail. The reason for this is that if they see that you are a business owner looking for a better domain for your business then they automatically see dollar signs and here the cash register opening... cha-ching!!!

Email them from your Yahoo email acting like you just think the domain is cool and you want it...

Or you can go to a domain backorder service and backorder it and hope they just don't renew it and you get it.

you can try to buy domain at the godaddy, namecheap.com. This two are the best domain sellers availble in the market. Even, this will let you know who has buyed the domain you are looking for.

Who-is is a powerful tool for what you're wanting to do. What you do really depends on how much money you feel like spending.

I agree, make sure you have a reasonable budget and watch for the domain to expire.

Also pre-ordering just incase may be a good alternative if the .COM is not active.

Send a message via Skype™ to elsoft

As suggested above.Whois is the best place to get the site owner's contact details.Sometime they screen their contact details with extra layer of privacy, which though happens only sometimes, then probably you can contact them through their "Contact Us" page.
