How Many Times Have You Retired?
Like many of you with an entreprenurial gene, I've retired several times. Somehow, it never seems to stick! I've retired from teaching school, retired after 27+ years in advertising, retired as a producing artist and cartoonist, retired again after 20+ years as a professional art rep, retired from raising water lillies, retired from raising swans. All the while, I looked forward to becoming a full-time writer. That's finally happened, as did thirteen books and two nationally syndicated newspaper features along the way.
Then, a few weeks ago, I discovered podcasting and decided to record some of the articles and newspaper columns as talkcasts. To my surprise in just 3 weeks more than 650 people have listened in on a wide variety of subjects, with the largest number listening in to selling tips to artists on how to market their work to Interior Designers and Architects.
I've just recorded 2 on a unique Backyard Biz - raising swans for fun and profit, but there are loads of other subjects, mostly funny, from limericks to memoirs - even a spine-tingling murder mystery, GATHERING TERROR. All are FREE for the listening on any computer, iPod or MP3 player by logging on to talkshoe and typing Dick Harrison in the Search box.
As I become more familiar with this site, I hope to share some of these on specific appropriate forums and look forward to answering questions if it will help members.
