Default Business Marketing Mistakes: 3 Marketing Mistakes Every Business Manager Makes

Some things to catch ourselves on.

"We are such big believers in our businesses that we canít wait to show it off. We admire our attributes and inhale our excellence. Then we exhale it all into our marketing communications. The problem is, when you do that, your marketing is all about you. And people donít care about you. They care about themselves. If your marketing is going to get any response at all, the first thing it must do is connect to something prospects care about."

Great article .... I especially enjoyed the reference to twins (since we just had twins). Caring about your clients is everything. Thanks from Jonathan Kremner for the article and the blog. Keep them coming!

Default Nice article

Loved the article. We are currently in a "marketing mode" but as you say it is an ongoing process that has to be developed analyzed and considered from the recipient's perspective. Thanks

Differenciation is, indeed, the key to successful marketing. The mistakes mentioned in the article are so basic and yet...

Where there is much light, the shadow is deep said Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. To create a contrast between yourself and competition, either brighten up your image or start praying that theirs is a few shades darker than yours. Going with former is more realistic methinks.

Default #3 We all look alike. . .

Hi Linda...thanks for the great article...couldn't agree with you more especially item #3 - We all look alike...every client we have, we strive to find ways to make them stand out from the crowd...if they don't, they won't grow and they will go out of business...standing out in the crowd is not that difficult, it just takes some time to look around and see the possibilities that other's aren't seeing...If you wish to stand out, try:

Going to your local book stores (Barnes & Noble, Boarders, etc.). Look for the area that has books & magazines on your business. Once you find them, place your business card in each of those books/magazines...when someone comes looking for that subject, whose name, address & web site will be staring them in the face...that's right YOURS...will you stand out from your competition?

When ever you pay a bill, either business or personal, include a business card or brochure in the envelope. You never know how many people will see that card/brochure and how many people they know who need your products/services...will you stand out from your competition?

If you like those ideas, I've got alot more that I would love to share with you.
