Links? I believe you need hyperlinks in any forum if you're trying to state out facts. Remember that you shouldn't be endorsing your product or your website though.

Links are very useful especially if you want to enforce facts. BUT! remember that not everything in the internet is real. You need to thoroughly investigate your facts and make sure that they have the authority to state one.

It's Depend on forums sites
For example Digital Forums site is the premium user is only two link allowed and senior users allowed 3 link allowed.

Thank you.

Actually, there are some forums that requires some qualification before posting and having a links from them. Like here you must have 50 post before you can have your signature or else the forum administrator will get you banned from the site. My point is that you must read the guidelines of each forums you are dealing to so that you will not get banned. But not all forum sites have this kind of regulations. It depends on the site.

Chris, How do you know it works? Let's hear the parameters of your "tests." I only ask because I've seen claims that links in forums work for years, but rarely are the links truly responsible for the rankings.

You have a point.

My website is page rank zero

I got my most SEO juice with anchor text back links in high page rank blogs. These blogs were related to my business.

This is only from my observation. I do not have data.

Question if I am in a Bank of America business Forum and I leave a link or anchor text link that is not going to give SEO juice?

My clients are all locals. Google is just a phone book for me

One Keyword link per website is fine but you should avoid using more than one keyword of the same website in the signature.

I will say that this is possible for link signatures in forums do have some power to them. This does of course depend on the authority. I recently ran a test on a very popular forum. Where I used my "target keyword" as the anchor text in my sig link. Within 3 days I went from 2nd page of google for that term and then changed it to a different more competitive keyword anchor link and within a week or I dropped down in the rankings. Naturally I put it back to the regular keyword phrase and slowly crawled back to the first page of google.

The common denominator was that I wasnt doing any backlinks within this time and really didnt have more than 20 backlinks before this. Also I wasnt adding any new content to the site during this time. No I was told this was do to the major authority of the forum itself.

Now, Im not saying things like this will happen everytime my target keyword really didnt have much competition other than the 3 sites above me. So dont expect miracles, but from what I have seen it can help.

Just one last point. Your more likely to have someone click your sig if you are helpful and active to the community than just spamming and looking for exposure. So please sigs are good but dont abuse them, help others and they will help you.

Quote I heard the other day that I really became stuck to recently "The harder I work the luckier I get"
