Default Improving Visitor Experience On A Cleaning Company's Website

To start, this post might be a bit more for the reviews section, but let me explain you why it must remain in the SEO forum. In a thread about important optimisation factors most people were talking about unique content, links, etc. These things are true, but 2014 is all about visitor experience and mobile seo - click here to read my post.

So my website experienced a little drop in its ranking positions (some 2-3 positions on average). And now I am looking to improve it, even though the cleaning niche could easily be labelled "boring". What I want you to do is the following:
  1. Imagine you need cleaning services
  2. Visit the website from my signature
  3. What do you expect to see, were you able to do it, was it easy to access this information?
  4. Tell me what you wanted to learn but wasn't there

You are right. And I have moved it to the review forum. I also have left it in the Search Engine Optimization forum for you with a permanent redirect so that it appears in both forums.

If your/this thread is not in the review forum, those who typically go there to review sites will not see it or be aware of it.

Your request is a good exercise for all to do. I hope to return shortly and provide you with my review and feedback as you requested.

As usual, my experiences with your site is positive.

I expected to see the type of cleaning services I could get, no doubt you have them when I visited. I wanted to see how to get ahold of you. Top of page. Prominent phone number, click to quote, etc. Live chat I would click on to set up service if I was actually going to. Prices there.

From there I would probably look at a competitor site or two to see how prices compare because I'm not sure what I should pay.

Maybe provide a price comparison against your competition ... or how you compare to the industry average in your area.

Other small suggestions. Your site/audience is local based. Can you speak to that loudly with some sort of graphic that helps your site communicate the area you serve. For example - a local site = local graphic that shows the area and associates it to that region.

Only other thought.

Ultimately if I were to use your services I presume there would be some sort of service agreement. Can I see what that service agreement might look like before I give you any of my information. For example if you are going to be cleaning weekly what are the service terms and agreement like. Make it transparent as possible, in my opinion.

You definitely understood the whole idea. It's all about transparency, getting the visitors well-informed and prepared for what will happen once booked. So, displaying some kind of agreement could really help build trust and show we are really there to do a good job.

Thanks, Logan, helpful as always!
I even visited freelinks.com and found some good forms and templates.

Happy to hear it was helpful.

Thinking about the agreement and transparency a little further. What if the visitor could create their own agreement online. Think of the sites like legalzoom where users create agreements. In your case they could fill in their information and as the data is gathered the completed agreement is presented. If they wanted to adjust options as they went along they could.

A lot of programming, but based on capabilities apparent from your site maybe it is something to consider. Certainly would engage the visitor.

I just visited your website in different browsers and it is not displaying properly in firefox (please test in different browser).

One very important point! when i visited website using chrom, it shows popup occupied around 25% of space. Being a customer, it is distracting. I would recommend reducing size of the popup.

Apart from other suggestion given by Logan, i would recommend going for email campaign in your area. You can easily get leads from Yelp or other local website and create one email campaign explaining your services and offer some discount. If you have small budget, you can even go for lead generation services like http://aruhat.com/datacrops/lead-gen...ta-extraction/ and generate quality leads.

I have tested aweber and mailchimp which gives best result and leads for our business.

Hope it will help

Thank you Yettac!

I'll definitely check on the issue. What version of the browser do you run?

Also, I'd like to ask anyone who has firefox to also check if the sidebar appears centred.
