Default Workmen's Compensation Insurance

Why is it impossible to get workmen's compensation insurance? I've gotten quotes for the coverage, so techincally it is possible, but for our company, with 5-10 employees, the coverage has been outrageous. We're in Indiana so if anyone in the Forum has had success with the coverage or knows a good agent/broker/firm, please let me know!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble finding affordable coverage. Where have you gotten your quotes from? Have you worked with insurance brokers?

Have you thought about contacting a professional employer organization for workers comp?

Workers Comp rates will depend and be effected by what kind of work you are doing, what state or states you are working in and what state your business is in.
If you feel your rates are too high you might be getting quoted under the wrong classification codes.
I highly recommend working with an agent they are great for getting you the best rates and also helping with any claims that possibly could accrue. If you would like I can refer you to an agent that can help.

Actually it is not impossible, but it has some limitations. As I know, insurance companies provides workmen's compensation insurance to high peoples strength companies only. They don't trust on small(number of heads) companies to allow them for these policies.

I am not sure, but I recently read news somewhere regards same. Waiting for others suggestions too!!

Every insurance company has its own policy. You should contact with their brokers or try to visit their office they will guide you properly.

If you have business insurance which covers workmen's compensation, if any accident occurs during work then only there is any possibility of getting compensation for the same. There are so many types of insurance comes under business insurance. First check what kind of insurance your organization issued and afterwards talk to your insurance company.
