Default Where Can I Find Info About Grant Sources For My Small Biz?

Hello everyone, I'm here seeking information about obtaining grants (in the US); info which seems to be ever-absent from the world wide web and all its glory. Namely I'm trying to find out *where* these sources are, who I should speak with, and/or where I can look lists up to find potential grant funding for my business; whether it be starting a business from scratch or expanding an existing small business (I'm flexible). I know it's much easier for women or minorities -- of which I am neither -- but it seems impossible for that to be the extent of it. I'm perfectly willing to alter or compromise my small business' short term goal in order to obtain financing to allow me to achieve my long term goals.

But no one talks about where to look or who to talk to to find this out. Who else has traveled this road but reached the destination? As far as I can tell Grants.gov is the one-stop shop for grants issued by the federal government, many -- but not all -- of those programs are geared towards organizations. But what about the state or local government level, or organizations, or benevolent individuals? Where can I go to find out about the latter list?

If no one knows off hand *where* the grants are, does anyone know *who* would know so I can ask them? I don't expect anyone to have *the* answer I'm looking for, I'm just hoping to find a little direction I can point myself in so I know where I should march with purpose and without relent.

Thanks everyone!

Forget about grants - they are very hard to get if you even qualify and nearly all businesses - 99.99% do not qualify - that is why you don't hear about where to find them.
We have some limited information and grants resources on our website - these are legitimate and vetted - they will take you right where they are.
or, check out grants.gov or SBIR.gov.

Hi Chris,

Use Grants.gov to search for government grants. Use foundationcenter.org to search for private grants.
