Default Social BM Site Is Blitzing Me With Inlinks.. Problem?

I am wondering if the inlinks coming from a social bookmarking site (many of them meaningless) can hurt you? When I say blitzing, I went from about a hundred inlinks to approaching 700 in 14 days. I also have a couple of programs going that involve submitting to 900 hand edited directories over 3 months (usually about 5 months 'til all submissions are live and indexed), 5 blog posts per week, 3 articles per month, and signature links on various forums. Coupled with the natural link backs that are starting, and the internal structure, I could have over 5000 inlinks by March. While that sounds great on paper I feel like I have released an untrained tiger. I know this question has been asked before, but how much is too much? Or more aptly, how much is too fast? Are forums givin more leeway as they are usually the type of site that builds rapidly?

No, it doesn't matter.

(1) Don't watch things so closely (2) Don't worry

Now, step back from your computer turn it off and go outside and enjoy the day. just kidding with you

I have never found that sites linking to you can hurt you, only who you link out to.

lol, well that is ironic. Hope you enjoyed your afternoon

I agree with David's take on it. The thing is that anyone could do what you have done to hurt another's site. So that would be an issue for the search engines. Since you control who you do link to from your website, that can play a role.
But realize ... all those links may not have an impact. I think of it along the lines of the links being "filtered out". So while they may not hurt your situation, they may not help either. Quality, etc plays a big role.

I agree with you. I think most of them will magically disappear anyway.

PS: Afternoon was great.. looked at three egg bombed houses and two "let's wait til the very last minute" decks. Sold all five jobs so it was worth leaving the office ;-)
