Default Is Anyone Here On Twitter?

Twitter is a "micro-blogging" site where people can jot down their thoughts in 140 words or less. You essentially subscribe to other people's post andthey can do the same for you. It can be fun, it can be weird, but it's a great way of exchanging ideas and meeting others.

Just wondering if many here had heard of it.

I have heard of it. But don't think, it is special from any other social networking site..

Default Looking to see how Twitter pans out.

I'm finding that it can be a more enjoyable experience that other type of sites but you can get lost in it at times once you start getting involved in several conversations.

I use Twitter to keep up with people in the industry, but I try to keep the people I follow down to either friends or friends of friends. I know a guy who keeps up with over a thousand people, and there are so many messages that come in, he can't keep up with them.

Here's a cool story about Twitter:

Hopefully that makes your day.

I'm there, too. I use it usually to get news from the NY Times and NPR.

So far, I've not really gotten much business connections yet since signing up 2 weeks ago. However, whenever I blog, publish an article, or have client news, I'll post an update.

Some of my clients have my press releases distributed to PR Newswire or BusinessWire. I'll provide a link to the releases when they get published.

Default Sorry I'm tardy to the party...

I'm on twitter! I didn't want to be and avoided it as long as possible but I recently attended a seminar about social media marketing. Aside from being the ONLY person without an iPhone or a PDA, I was also the only person not on twitter. It's hard to find friends on there, and I don't like that you can't do a search except by email address.

As far as Google goes, I also learned at this conference that with press releases, your best bet is PRweb.com. We've been doing press releases for some time now using various services (PR newswire being one of them) and the most recent one we did with PRweb. It was the only one that resulted in a Google News Alert.

Good luck

Sarah

I have been giving twitter another try. I do feel a bit more "in the loop" using it.
I sue twhirl to follow twitters. it will track multiple twitter accounts.

and twitter tools plugin on my blog, www.bigfootwebmarketing.com , where I can post twitters from my blog , there is also function that will convert your twitters into a post for you blog and/or do daily digest of all your posts and automatically create blog entry. I like this function (so) far as it creates semi-related content for blog with little effort.
