Firebringer... can you post a link to your site?? I would be really interested in seeing your 'step-by-step' plan. I have clients who ask all the time.

Default Starting business

You didn't mention what type of business you would like to start, it would've been more helpful. However, I guess your question also refers to money. If you have your own savings but it's not enough to fund the company, you could appeal to family and friends, it's the cheapest method. After that, as you're going to need more money to expand, you should try to convince an investor to provide more capital, proving them that your product or service idea is worth investing in. Whether you choose angel investors or venture capital firms, you'd better focus on the business plan and the executive summary first, as they will ask you a lot of questions about future financial projections and not only. Here's the Wikipedia page with the detailed business funding stages:
If you don't know how to find business investors, you can go to VCgate, which is a venture capital firms, angel investors and private equity funds software directory.
There's also a free trial download of the database, to see how it works. The site also has a blog with very useful business plan tips.
Good luck, hope to hear from you as a successful businessperson!

Default Re : need help starting business

Well the information you provided is very short as one don't even knows what type of business you want to start. Each & every business has its own set of starting type & targeted audience.

I would suggest reading entrepreneur.com on a daily basis. It contains some great advice from people that walked the walk. All of the articles that they publish are relevant to the current economic conditions and market trends.

The only advice I would give is let your sales grow your business. Sometimes businesses try to grow or expand before they have a customer base. 1.Market and gain publicity. 2.Generate Sales. 3.Expand
