Default Does URL Hierarchy Matters?

Hello Friends,

I have to rewrite the URL of the website, and I am having one doubt. Hope you guys will help me.

Will the Landing page link juice will be affected if their are multiple folder in the URL?

Example:- domain.com/services/abc/xyz

Here the link juice of xyz page will be divided by the services & abc page too?

To make sure xyz page gets the complete link juice do I need to place that folder near to the domain? Like domain.com/xyz or domain.com/abc/xyz

Experts pelase help me with your valuable answer.

Not really. It is the internal and external links that will impact the link popularity. Not the directory level or url structure. I wouldn't be concerned. A myth commonly held is that the closer to the root directory, then the higher the PR. This is often true because more links go to the root directory. Not because it is the root directory. You can test this yourself, by simply making a page in your site more popular with more links ... even if a directory multiple levels deep.

URL hierarchy matters in terms of user friendliness within the site and also for better indexing for the search engine.

Yes, it matters. Having SEO friendly URLs can help in ranking higher as they are one of the most important factors for on page optimisation.

Distance from root directory of a URL doesn't matter that much, but URL itself matters.
A good hierarchy will help search engine to index your site better as well as will be easy to navigate for users and URL that is related to contact of page rank higher in search engines.

URL hierarchy always matters in terms of the SEO because it is the biggest part of the website's navigation. and google always believe that good navigation is always needed for the better user experience.

That's why I believe that URL hierarchy is meters for the SEO.

Example:- domain.com/services/abc/xyz

this format is the best way to optimize or follow the hierarchy..

Link Juice passes with left to right not right to right..

First Google will crawl your domain and then its page..

Thanks

It matters to a point, yes. It's important to have URLs that make sense and that contain keywords rather than random numbers and letters.
