Default Please Help Make Site Better

Below is a link to a random clothing boutique.

Please assist with constructive criticism. I'm using this random site as a guidline for my own when it becomes available.

Would using real poeple instead of manniqans help sales?

How about a scale for the clothes sizes. So instead of med or large I could have the dimensions of real poeple wearing the different sizes. That would take a lot more work but mannequin could be used.

Also are the fonts to small? Could a cursor that blows up the image as it moves across the different clothing categories? Is the white background too amature?

What about a link to shop photos? Offer free internet at the shop and display it on the website?

I don't know what I'm doing

I like the site - i think the white background is a little boring, but the layout is good and the navigation is pretty user friendly

You can't go wrong with using real people. People who visit your site identify more with people than manicans or anything else you can think to put up there.

Yes, you have a good eye. The font is too small and faint for easy reading. Their cart system is also questionable. Having the word "cart" and a number next to it makes me as a customer question their cart system tremendously. Also, if you notice, the site send you to shopify to make a purchase, which also degrades credibility in your site more than most people think. It takes alot to get someone through the site to the cart and just one little thing like sending them to another domain to complete the purchase is enough to turn them off and look elsewhere. I recommend getting your own custom cart system and hosting. You can also get a merchant account where you can bill with all the major credit card companies directly on your site and keep your customers on your site. For an online business, this is crucial. Let me know if I can help and good luck,

I like the site. I think it could use a colored background and I think instead of having the clothes on the mannequins you should lay them down on a sheet and give them a little more light. Also, sell on Ebay! It is great for getting traffic and sales!

Default Everyone

Cool thanks a lot for the tips guy's. Those are some usefull tips I haven't read in my "How to start an online business in one week" book yet although I havent finished it yet.

Those are a lot of the same ideas I had except the shopping cart stuff but I did think it was a little sketchy just beacuse I never seen that layout before.

Also, I was told that the vendors I may be handed over will not do business with us if they see their items on Ebay. I don't exactly know the reason for this. Maybe because Ebay is like the used car lot of common merchandise.

Anyways thanks for the input everyone.

I don't know what I'm doing

You should definetly use real people, and you don't have to have a full body shot for each photo. An example of this can be seen at BEBE.com>

You can always get good ideas by looking at designer clothing sites such as Bebe
