I think alt tags for images and contexts surrounding images with keywords in would be really helpful for this purpose.

Thanks,

Use the "alt" attribute with the images on your webpage. Always place a link on your images for a good SEO.

I think Google is trying to improve their method of reading the images meta information. So if you want your images to be included in the image search, make sure you remember the ff:

1. Name it properly and be descriptive.
2. Supply appropriate meta information on the image.
3. Put the image near the text the best describe it.

Hi vortex, I visited your site and noticed you're using underscores for separating your words. There seems to be an argument that dashes are better, yet some say they're not, but you might want to test it out.

As for images I think you should promote them as well. It's the same as with sites or blogs. Your pics can bring some profit too.

use image tag, submit to Flickr like sites, upload to image hosting sites and share...

I think that will bring some traffic from images.

Once I have tried hard to get to the top of Google image search but it ultimately ends in a complete fiasco. But few months later I have abandoned this and moved to another project and then I found that i have secured 3 position in Google image search. i do not know how it was happened.

I usually add alt and title attributes to my images and it makes it more engine friendly, also do not forget to add tags in it. this way it can easily rank well in google images which is another good source of traffic.
