The cost of advertising on Facebook varies.

You can pay either on a CPM (cost per thousand views of your ad) or CPC (cost per click on your ad) basis.

When you choose the geography/demographic you want to target, Facebook actually gives you recommended bid amounts, which are quite accurate for CPM (for CPC it varies, because the cost will depend on your click through rate).

So for a good idea, head to Facebook and start creating an ad. For a few examples:

Targeting everyone in the US 18+: $0.40CPM, $0.92CPC
Targeting those 50-60 in NYC: $0.54CPM, $1.26CPC

Targeting most international locations is substantially cheaper.

No matter where what you are targeting, you can set a daily budget of as little as a dollar a day.
