Default Impact Of The Election

What if any impact do you think the election will have on your business? On small business in general?

To prevent this thread from being deleted, please remember to abide by the forum rules on this topic before responding:

Politics: We're here to support each other in our small business endeavors, not argue about politics. The only political discussion/commentary that will be allowed will be if it is directly and specifically related to small businesses. For example, if you wish to name and discuss a specific law or pending legislation that affects small businesses, that is fine. If you mention the name of a politician or generically ask people to get the vote out because things are bad/good, your post will be edited without notice.

This means you may discuss specific legislation but general responses such as "I think it will be terrible" or "I think it will be great", etc. will be removed.

Sorry we have to be so strict about this.

Thanks for the reminder. I agree. I am looking for specific laws, issues, etc that might impact small business and where small business leaders might be able to be real live proactive (not lobbying) positions to either mitigate some specific risk or take advantage of an opportunity.

Thanks again for the reminder
Steve

It may seem like I am talking to myself out here....not that that hasn't happened before but I was thinking more about Robert's caution that this thread doesn't become political......and I thought it may help to tell you where the question came from.

In reviewing several stock analyst reports there were several industries noted(pharmaceuticals for one) that would need to reassess the outcome of the election. Reassess it as it impacted their product mix, their pricing, their distribution, their labor, and the list goes on. They were evaluating the environment much as they would the economy, the competitive environment and the impact of emerging technology. So my question (and hopefully this helps you in your response) is what issues should we as small business owners be aware of....either to mitigate risk or take advantage of emerging opportunities.

Hope that helps
Steve

well, I'm certainly worried about my taxes being raised. Can't run a business of all my hard-earned dollars are going to the government!

I saw this article and thought it had some pretty good practical / useable insight on the issue of the impact of the mid-term elections on small business.
