Exit rate is how many people left your website after they landed on a particular page, whereas bounce rate shows just how many people left the exact page, i.e. after leaving this page they might stay on your website and browse other pages.

Exit rate means visitor who exits might have visited other pages on your site, but just exited on that specific page.or other hand Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that hit your website on a given page and don’t visit any other pages on your site. i would think google looks to see if you continue your search, going back to the google search results and looking at more sites.I really doubt that bounce rate make a different on SERP..

Bounce rate is the fraction of people who landed on a page and immediately left. Bounces are always one page sessions.

Exit rate is the proportion of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session.

Bounce rate is when the people left a certain page immediately and goes to another page in your website. Bounce rate is always a one page session.

Exit rate is when visitors left your website for that page.

One who enters in your site will always leave it. You should care about the bounce rate only.

Alastair, that is definitely true. However, the exit rate can show you which pages are losing your audience the most. If you have a big discrepancy in the exit % on a specific page as compared to the other pages, it might be worth it to look into that page to identify if it is a cause for visitors to leave the website prematurely. Of course this variable may be more or less relevant depending on your business.

Hope this helps

The difference is that for all page views exit rate is the percent which is for the last session and for the bounce rate percentage is only for the last session. For more you can visit https://support.google.com/analytics.../2525491?hl=en
