If you are referring to finding out of a particular website is spam then you could check out the contact information and the whois information and see of they match up. Also sometimes you can tell by the content that is posted on the site; if it's spam then you might find some irrelevant words stuffed inside the article.
If you are talking about identifying spam comments then, generally spam comments are usually vague with no value to the topic it is commenting on. Also the spam comment is usually trying to push their links on your site.

John, perhaps you could expound a little on what you're asking.

I think that following given below cases:
1. Links Farming
2. Cookies Storing (Login)
3. Malwares

Use Mozilla browser to rid this problems.

Either I'm giving in to senility or the questions and answers are becoming a bit fragmented. I don't understand how a Mozilla browser remedies link farming. Could you expand on that a little?

Repeating keywords over and over, buying links past rank also shows.
Spam sites all over size, colors, shapes.

Thanks for recommending the techniques, which can help us to know whether the site as well as comments are spammy or not.

I was about to post to try to get some clarification on what you meant, but then I realized you posted this 3 years ago and never returned....
