I have a domain and i want to convert it from http to https, please guide me to get one.

first of all, you need to register a domain name.
then, you need to buy hosting account
last, you need to buy ssl certificate to get your domain with HTTPS.

I know Google did said it will reward sites with higher ranking if they convert to HTTPS but your chance to get slap with duplicate content penalties also increases because they are considered as separate websites. Although there are several standard ways to resolve this issue, that still means we need to put in more effort to be extra diligent. I think I will still drag my feet for the time being.

To make a website HTTPS, firstly get an SSL certificate for the domain, install it on the server and change the website permalinks from http to https. Ensure your shared-hosting has SSL/TLS activated. If absent, contact your host and request it. They might charge to activate it.

If you just want the basic SSL cert you need to watch a new service called "Let's Encrypt" It is a service of a Non-Profit group to make SSL Certs VERY EASY

It is currently in Public Beta. You can check it out at https://letsencrypt.org/ If you are getting ready and can hold out you might want to wait for this ( I have been waiting for my site.)

When it is done you will be able to add SSL ( including setting up the web server for you ) with a few commands.
