I'm starting an IT company (or rather "branding" and extending what I already do as a freelancer).
I plan to sell (or lend) ecommerce solution (shopping cart, affiliate management, SEO services, etc.) on a local market (no US/UK), which is quite a nice niche as most open source systems (e.g. ZenCart, OsCommerce, Magento or Drupal+Ubercart (which I customize now)) are completely unsuitable for European tax system or specifically tax system in my country (also payment options tend to be rather complicated).
The only problem that remains to be solved is the name of the start-up (I can do the rest myself / with employers
). There are several requirements for the name (simple to remember, free local domain, simple to pronounce etc.) So far, after some brainstorming, a friend of mine came up with a name Orison
(or Orison.tld - substitute tld with your favourite top level domain). I checked it in the dictionary, it has (unintentional) meaning of "a prayer".
What do you think? Should I use the name? Is it suitable for IT (ecommerce solutions) start-up? (Ignore meaning for non-english speakers, as it can be easily pronounced both in English and in my language).
Thanks for any replies.
Note: I'm sorry if I had placed the post in a wrong section. I'm also sorry if it seems boring / inappropriate to ask about such things, but I just need to test the name before using it (think linkbuilding, PPC, logo design, etc.)
