Jennifer,
I love the quiz idea this is something I can do! What kind of travel accomodation are you? Hotel, condo, etc...and the possibilities are flurrying in my head. It's execution I'm struggling with here. So do I just put it up on my blog? How to I get it rolling and spreading? Just make it compelling? Press release it?

I'd launch it via a few blogs. Just send an email to some bloggers related to your topic and invite them to check it out. Usually with these, once you can get a handful of folks posting, you'll see it popping up more and more.

Especially if you can get it on LiveJournal or MySpace...

So do you advocate using MySpace and the like for professional businesses? I'm looking for more of a 30-50 something audience...

Yep, there are 30 and 40 somethings running personal blogs on those types of sites.

Now if you are trying to reach business owners, you likely aren't going to succeed, but if you are targeting B2C business, I think there's a lot of potential there.

How long does it take on average to build up momentum do you think? I'm sure this would vary with distribution method but maybe there's an idea of time to budget ratio?

I'm just thinking that with the affiliate program I have see my list of sites promoting my business to grow at a different rate to what I had guessed initially.

Me again.

I was just going through your article again and got stuck on one thing: "A handful of created questions and a simple computer program can easily generate an entertaining blog quiz ". Where can I find this "simple computer program" and how much would the average price be?

I love the idea of a quiz and would love to create one on my limited SME budget!

Thanks and smiles,
Belinda

You can find scripts/programming for quizes and other things at sites such as hotscripts.com. Select the type of programming language and then search for what you want there. You can also find other similar sites or search the engines.

Thanks for that. I'm suddenly finding a whole heap of choices (a little overwhelming) so I've started a favourites folder for Link Bait material. Now I'm learning there's a new skill set in writing a good quality quiz!

Default MySpace and Viral Marketing

I'm still struggling with this. As a parent of teens/preteens, myspace is something im on to keep and eye on them more or less. i guess i just don't get how it's used for those besides bands. so much bad press in the parenting world that it has me nervous about protecting my id and my family's too. Any good resources for more professional uses of myspace and less social or is that defeating the whole point?
