My suggestion is actually to redirect users from your current website to your mobile site based on the device they are on. (Also provide and override link back to the main website.) The idea here is that you would be providing the best user experience to both types of users.
thinking about the mobile user experience you need to design a separate site. One that uses mobile site best practices. This will make your site more useful to the mobile user and will keep them on the mobile site longer. Keep the images and content light. You want your pages to be under 50K in total. Think Style sheet and limited graphics. This is like designing for the web in 1996 accept on a smaller screen.
If your content is in CRM then typically you can pull from that and manage your content in one place.
On a mobile site you have to give me what i want on the first screen. Don't make me scroll and don't make me zoom. special meta tags also control the sizing of the display how the device will render your page.
