another one propose installing of solar powered fans with security device in bus stops, waiting areas etc . when the weather turns hot this fans will be up running on minimum power.

how about a solar powered condo that runs 60% of its energy on solar?

Definitely a site with some great ideas to really get the creative juices flowing. Its a good way to look at things from a different angle then you might have before.

OK I want to be the spoiler. The problem with weird and whacky ideas is that it is not the idea but the execution that will lead to success or failure. I have friends with very successful businesses that everyone thought would fail and we all have heard of great ideas for businesses that should have worked and fell apart.

I think it was Thomas Eddison who said "1% inspiration, 99% perspiration". Low cost start ups with lots of hard work and a proven business model are a far far safer way to go for most of us. Leave the weird and whacky to Mr Branson and his ilk who can afford to lose a few bucks when the going gets tough.

Actually, I've been thinking of such a website as my own business idea, with the ability to submit your own ideas as a user. Some of the ones presenter there are really nice.

Default Clothing line ...

... and, a friend was throwing around names and ideas for his own clothing line. He was unfortunately not coming up with any viable ideas. I told him to think the ideas through to a logical conclusion and think really big! I asked him if Disney was considering a move into a clothing line and were offered two line ideas, which do you think they would choose? One was Goofy Wear and the other was Donald Duds. Hey, everyone likes the duck but Donald Duds is a dead end ... it would be limited to sailor outfits. GoofyWear could be directed to the baggy-clothing, young crowd; the stylish and hip, slightly disheveled club-goers; or even to surfers (think Goofy Foot). The possibilities are almost unlimited. He completely understood and eventually came up with some great ideas that have tremendous commercial potential.

This might sound silly, but I really wish someone would start a business running errands for small business people. I have a small staff and if just one person can't come in it sometimes leaves me in the store alone, and sometimes for a few days straight. It would be nice to have someone to call that could get the deposit to the bank before it closes, mail a package, watch the store for an hour so I can attend a parent-teacher conference, pick up my dry cleaning or whatever. It sometimes gets to the point where friends and family won't answer your calls because they know you 'need a favor'. I was recently left alone on a Friday afternoon and couldn't get to the bank, so I had to go begging for rolled coins at other businesses to get through the weekend. Am I the only one who could use a service like this?
