Hello

Most small businesses are not aware that they can use social media for sales prospecting. Using social media networks like Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook can actually allow you to do just that..Social Media sites are the most effective way for advertising and marketing...

Thanks

Doing a Google search for property managers in your area and visiting them in person. If you're not getting good responses from them, maybe you're not hitting on the right "hot buttons" to motivate people.

I see you as limiting yourself by only offering hard surface floor cleaning. Most commercial accounts want someone to do it all. Maybe you need to think about adding additional services. You could always sub them out.

It takes time to build up your brand. Try different advertising medium instead of restricting to one or two. Decide on who are your primary and secondary market segments, and think about how to get the message across to them (eg. what magazines they read, what related activities they do, etc).

In the world of freelance, customer referrals are everything. The amount of customer referrals will often determine how successful one’s business can really be. As word spreads quickly, having customers refer others to you and your services is a wonderful way of gaining businesses and making more money. There are a few distinct ways to get more customer referrals for your business. Give 100% effort all the time, ask customers to refer you to others, offer discounts for referrals, place a business card or a coupon code, you select your customer of the month, and you have to make sure that your customers are getting their moneys worth.

Default We are a new and small cleaning business with big ideas looking to find more clients.

I am also looking to do the same and it is not easy. I have found that local adds only brought the attention of people looking for work. I find that emails are the best and cost saving method.

I also make sure that I find all the local email addresses and go to work on them. I would look at my target client, and aim to send an email to them and their head office along with all other branches from that company.

I started of just specialising in carpet cleaning but due to request have now moved into providing a whole range of services.

Anyway, I would love to find out how you get on.

Regards,

Martin

My husband is the sales force calling on commercial accounts. This takes time to develop relationships. That will come in time. So far, one account but no regular contract. Only as needed work. Nice, but really want contracts.

For the residential side - we've sent post cards, had and ad in Savvy Shopper, listed online with Service Magic. We've had very little response to these efforts. We don't have a ton of money to spend, either...

We like the think outside the box idea, but are stumped on what some of those things might be. Also, when an idea comes up we seem to be stuck on how to implement or make it happen.

So, all this to ask:

What ideas do you have to get the word out about a new service company?

What's the best way to find creative ideas for promotion and advertising and then get those ideas implemented?

I think you have to work on your advertisement and your business strategy. Attract people, become a hot issue -- in a good way. Build good reputation so that people would remember you.

You should've created a feasibility study first before entering the arena. Your company also lacked marketing research. You also should've made your homeworks first. There's nothing we can do about it anymore because the business is operational now. I advise you to use viral marketing and word of mouth first because it's capital requirements are only words. Online marketing is also an inexpensive way to market your service.

I see a lot of people mentioning word of mouth. This is very strong advertising for your business, but it could take a while to build up. I know you short on cash so I'll try to give you some low budget options.

Craigs List - if this is in your area, use it. It's free so even if you only get one customer from it, it's worth it.

Gaurantees, use them - You know your work is good right? Prove it! Offer money back Gaurantees on your services. Yea, you may wind up having to fork over some cash, but this will win a lot of confidence from your prospects and the benefits should heavily outweigh the risks.

Networking - In my area the local chamber of commerce holds monthly networking events. And, guess what, those real estate and insurance agents others have mentioned, along with a host of other companies are there too. You may be able to attend the first few events as a guest for free, but you should join if you find it worthwhile.
