Default Please Help, Someone......anyone

This is my first try at starting a business and it seems as if things are already going poorly. I was looking to start a small consumer electronics business(TV's, surround sound, and video games) and I can not seem to find any distributors. The options online do not seem that reliable and appear to be a scam. Can someone help point me in the right direction before I just give up? I hate be be a quitter!

Try to look not in the Internet but at your city or ton. I think you will find some variants to work out your business.

Any business idea begins with a "market analysis." What product do you have in mind? (You've answered that.) Can you make a PROFIT with that product?

To answer the profit question, you must have a sense of how many people are likely going to pay you money for your product.

To answer that question, you'll have to do some serious and Objective thinking about your product. How many OTHER companies provide what you're providing? If there are many other companies, then....

....what's so special about YOUR particular company? Why would anyone want to buy from you and not the other competitors?

Without doing the research, and just off the top of my head I would submit that there are hundreds of thousands of other "small electronics" businesses in the world. Probably in your own area as well.

What will YOU do that's different? If you intend to be a "broker," finding something manufacture by someone else then selling it, why would anyone use you? Why wouldn't they just buy it themselves, directly from the manufacturer?

One option is Product Knowledge. You might know a whole lot about small electronics and can help people figure out exactly what they need. The problem there is how to charge money for your knowledge.

I've often said that starting a business is like going fishing. Too many new entrepreneurs just show up at a lake and expect to take home fish for dinner. Do they have a fishing pole, line and a hook? Do they have bait? Do they know if there even are fish in the water?

Just because you have a zillion dollar fishing pole, tackle box, boat and equipment doesn't mean you know how to fish.

Starting a business isn't about coming up with an idea, then putting up a Web page and sitting back "waiting for customers" to knock on your door. In today's world, even if you have a unique product (the famous "better mousetrap,") nobody's going to beat a path to anyone's door without....Marketing!

I like that 'fishing pole' concept. It's bang on. I got the best equipment... and I am here... where's the fish!??

QUESTION: Is the small electronics even profitable?? With online sales and the big guys crawling all over it... is it possible to make a living at that??

Then, you have to remember; People don't buy 1/4 inch drills; they buy 1/4 inch HOLES. What PROBLEM can you solve that nobody else can??

When you answer that.. you've got the solution!

Hope this helps! Good luck!
