Default Should I Join A Traffic Exchange Program?

Are those programs worth my time and money?

Some might work well but I don't want to spend time buzzing around other sites to earn credit points. I don't know whether I could put a blanket decision because I haven't tried them all. But you could type the name of a website + "scam" into Google.com to get others opinions on paid sites. If somebody doesn't get desirable results they generally will yell -- SCAM!

Honestly, the only one really winning from traffic exchange is the traffic exchange website owner, and the biggest members at the website are also getting a good amount of traffic.

These websites are usually pretty spammy, and you normally only get money if you are willing to be a spammer yourself. I would rather use my time with article marketing or link building.

It's much more reputable than a traffic exchange, and the effects last much longer.

Traffic exchanges usually will work very well to bring you traffic. That is, if you're satisfied with a whole bunch of people who visit your home page for three seconds or less and leave without doing anything...

But if you want visitors who actually do something (buy your product, inquire about your service, sign up for your newsletter, whatever), they're terrible. KimboJim's advice is a good place to start. There are plenty of ways to promote your website that will bring you real visitors who are actually interested in what you offer.

Traffic exchanges, sadly, are not one of them.

I thought recent Google updates did away with the effectiveness of traffic exchanges? In any case, they've never worked for me.
