This is exactly correct. Here's the bottom line. If you do NOT capture their email address then you have ONE chance to engage with them. This is the time they are on your website. If you DO capture their email address you can engage with them over and over again. So, the question I would ask you, is what is your customers biggest problem? What is their PAIN that your service or product solves? Then create a mini product answer that solution. If you write a report with the answer, record a video- doesn't matter that much. Give this away for free in exchange for their email address. Then it's up to you how you want to engage them after you have that information. But remember, when they first opt in to your list is when they are MOST in the buying mood. So don't wait too long to follow up with them.
