Hi

Another question on social marketing, if you guys can help.

Does an approach for social marketing vary with the product in consideration for Facebook? Is it different for shoes and food products?

Of course. Why on Earth would you market shoes and food products in a similar way?

Yes, approach will remain vary from product to product but the process will remain same to the promotions for products such as to build strong network as per niche, share relevant content with them, participate in niche conversation by linking and commenting on posts etc.

Promotion on any social media website vary from product to product. Because there is always a difference in target market and approach. But the basic process of promotion will be same for every product.

Definitely - shoes are a need, food products are often a want.

Try to present a problem, then offer a solution.

Yeah approach will be different from product to product like if you are marketing for clothes then you should promote them on different pages or groups or circles and if you are promoting food items then must use different strategy. But there are products which are related somehow like women accessories and women clothes there you can promote side by side.

of course it does. And it also depends on what your target group is, how relatively active they are and how willing they are to engage with your product page online.

The key here is knowing whether you'd like to drive sales online (ideally yes) but you'd also like that to stem from having a sustainable relationship with your audience online.

TO tailor your social media strategy, you need to know what your ideal end goals are - sales, level of engagement, number of followers/likes.

and bear in mind that your customers dont go to social media because they want to be targeted so you dont want to force it on them

I agree - bombarding people who choose to follow you on social media is just plain clumsy and awkward.

Approach will definitely vary from product to product with communication channels remaining constant. Every product is meant for a specific purpose. So, they have their own characteristics. Hence, approaches will differ.

Nowadays millions of people around the world are using social networking sites, that's why it is essential to include it as a part of your marketing strategy when promoting a product or services. If you choose Facebook to promote your products then you must have a page for it. Send out an email to your contact list or invite your friends to "Like". Your Facebook page serves to make your product viral towards your potential customers, you can leave reviews, comment on it and put a link of your website so that they will have a reference about your product.
