Default Should We Do This?

We are currently working on a section in our web site to create free guides and articles that are useful for business. I know that there are many sites that offer business articles but I have found that many of these articles do not offer in-depth and well researched articles. Articles/guides we choose to publish will be well researched and on average between 10-30 pages in length. We have three full time team members working on this section.

Do you think you will be interested in such service?
If yes, what topics would you like to see covered?

thanks,

Kh

Hi,

I think if you can offer good, plain-English guides (more step-by-step than white paper) it would be a great resource.

I agree with you - most article sites offer morsels at best (seldom even tasty) and the sites to which they lead you offer little more than a number or solicitation form.

Do you plan to offer re-publish rights with attribution? If they're truly valuable others may want to to re-publish them (and it could generate some nice links back).

Hi Will,

Thanks for the feedback. We are still debating if we should share the content with other sites or not. I was just reading a
blog at SEOMZ where Rand seemed not to like sharing content with other sites.

My initial response to that would be 'both'.

The ideal sceranio (to me) would be two fold. Publish the full length article and then also create a shorter one (unique and not duplicating content of full length article) that is available to be published by others. That shorter article would lead to the full length article.

To me, the key to this is that the shorter length article is not duplicating the longer length article and provides a link back referencing the full length.

I agree with Logan.
Implementing his suggestion could multiply the benefit of the articles many many times.

That sounds like a good idea. I really appreciate the feedback. I guess my next question is what topics would you think are interesting to business owner?

How to retire in one week?

No seriously, I think two of the main things I see on business forums are how to create a business plan and questions about taxation.

I personally consider that launching a web site with "general" information and topics is not such a good idea.

See digg.com for things that get people's attention. It's a great place to see how others feel about news.

But from this to launching a web site with more or less interesting information ...

BTW, I'm interested in Linux.
