Default Website Hosting, What Would You Prefer?

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering what most people would prefer in their web hosting assuming that the features are similar across the board.

A recommended (by a friend) host don't care where it is.

A web host in your country

or, it doesn't matter if the host is here or overseas it's the price that matters.

Look forward to seeing what people think.

When we first picked a hosting company, we picked one in Los Angeles (Cal-Pop). We were able to go down there, check things out, etc. It was very convenient.

Now that I live in the mountains and we sold our hosting company to someone on the East Coast, we moved our company servers over to to TechEvolution and have been extremely happy with them

I use GoDaddy for all but one of my web sites.

If you are marketing to Australians, then use a server located there.

If to the NA market, one located in NA.

THere can often be loading time problems for servers outside the market area.

While I realize there can sometimes be slight loading problems. I have sites hosted on Australian servers and American servers and even on in Asia. I don't notice an significant difference between them. In the early days of the internet this may have been true. But with fast upload times on most hosts now, the situation seems to be improved.
