Default Did GoArticles.com Get A Manual Penalty From Google?

Today I added an article in GoArticles.com, I found that it is giving No follow links in the Author bio section. Is there a possibility of GoArticles.com getting manual penalty from Google. Yesterday I checked my previous articles, all links were Do follow. I guess GoArticles.com has done this changes today itself. Any suggestions….

I don't know if they've received a penalty or not, and I don't know if anyone would know unless they decided to publicly confirm such a thing. But according to Google, those kinds of links should be nofollow -- because they're links the authors can place themselves, and frequently tend to be keyword-rich.. In general, the only reason most people are posting to article directories is for "SEO purposes" to start with, which makes them exactly the kinds of links that Google doesn't want to "count."

So it's also possible they made the change in an attempt to prevent getting penalized.

Thanks for your valuable reply Torka. I have something else to ask. I have paid ahrefs.com subscription. Today I just went through my website backlinks. I cannot find my goarticles.com backlinks. I have created nearly 20 backlinks but still I cannot find my backlinks in ahrefs. Only the backlink which I got from the profile section is visible. I don’t know the reason behind this. I need your suggestion regarding this problem. The links are now No Follow but still I am curious to find the reason behind this.

Most of the article directories are changing their links to no follow as today Google is awarding ranking on the base of quality of site from where you have created links not on do follow or no follow

Article directories have been struggling for a while now. Not only are they becoming less and less useful from a SEO point of view, (Google does not value the backlinks very much at all) many directories have moved to nofollow links in efforts to stop the spammy, spun articles being submitted just for backlink purposes.

GoArticles may well have decided that nofollow links are what should be on their site too.

Whether they have actually received a penalty is something we will probably never know.
