Default Content VS Backlinks?

Hello folks,

What is considered as more significant, creating content or building back links?

Hi Lisa, basically both content creation and backlink building are important. While there is not a straight answer to what is most significant since SEO is not about doing any one thing.

While doing SEO you need to take some other factors into consideration. And content creation is an on-page activity which might earn you external links if you product quality linkable content and while building backlinks is off page activity.

I agree that a combo of both is the best strategy, however with that said, one thing to keep in mind, the content needs to be valuable. Fluff and junk content will do nothing for SEO and could even have a negative impact. I've been able to get websites to rank well with minimum content and a lot of high quality relevant backlinks. Even with backlinks, junk directories don't help your SEO either. When doing SEO, don't take the easy way out, it won't have long lasting effects

Backlinks can't give a lot of favor without content. Content related backlinks can really increase your domain authority and rankings in google.

Backlinks puts you on top while content is what makes your audience stay. Both are equally important

Both are important as only Quality contents can help you build quality links so three most important factors in organic SEO are Content, Links and RankBrain.

You should consider both.Having great content should usually bring some backlinks naturally as people will link to your site/blog, but if you're at the beginning both have the same importance.
