Default New Article - Search Engines And PDFs

Authored by: Jill Whalen

A Snippet:

The search engines do indeed index and rank PDF documents these days. Basically, what they do is convert them into HTML and then index the information just like any other web page.

Thanks for that info! I never thought about PDF's and search engines, I merely wrote them for customer convenience. I went back and checked my rankings for my PDF pages - something I never did before reading this article and yes they have most definitely helped my site!

I give away freebie pdfs of all (or many) of my old books... Does anybody know of a relatively easy way to go in and add links to the existing pdfs?

Does anybody know of a service that'll do this? ( I've got thousands of pages of pdfs...)
