Default Anyone Have Or Has Had A Pizza Box Ad Business?

I was thinking about starting my own pizza box ad business, yet I wanted to find out if anyone in this forum is currently running or has run a pizza box ad business.

Mainly the job involves working out a contract with a local “ma and pa” pizza business, where you offer to run a free ad and or provide a discount coupon for their business on a common flyer, if they will put the common flyer on top of every pizza box they provide to their customers. Then basically I have to go out to sell ad and discount coupon ad space to local businesses, who are willing to pay for their ad to be on the common flyer.

Yet I mainly just wanted to get some feedback from anyone who is currently doing this or has done this, to see if a good living could be made at selling these types of ads and discount coupons upon working out a contact with the “ma and pa” pizza restaurant.

Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Default great idea

I have not done it but. I would tell them I will give you free boxes if you allow me to have an ad. on the boxes. You find a box company that will fulfill this for you. Then all you have to do is sell other companies on the advertising. Send in the artwork to the box fulfillment company and vavoom your in the money.

Probably not that easy but I would try to do it as close to that as possible.

I would guess the real hurdle would be to compete with all the "Local Marketing" deals flooding the market right now. They can set up a website, get it listed on Google and rent or sell it to YOUR customer by email a lot cheaper than you can print flyers and sell advertising with all the leg work and the cost of gas today. But then, who knows unless you try?

Have you considered starting by checking with potential advertisers?? The free box concept would probably be an easier 'sale', but do you have advertisers?? That would be a place to start your work.

If you can make it reasonable for small business advertising... then you probably have a shot at making it.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Non an easy business. The easy part is getting the pizza stores, and you should have more than one in a local area. They love you because you're saving them money. But it's getting the small business owner to participate. Lots of leg work. I have extensive Madison Ave major agency experience. Put together a marketing program for a friend getting into this business. The hurdle is that small business owners are very cautious. Even though the actual cost is relatively low, they don't see the real value. Tough sell. But if you work at it, gain traction,a nd can get testimonials, it gets easier. But prepared for a tough climb up a steep mountain.
