As many times as you want I would think. However, if you asking how it will affect SEO than I would say you would thoroughly confuse Google as to what the page is about. H tags are used by Google as one indication of the subject of the page. The more you have the less effective they become.

Solution: Make more quality content pages for all the H1 tags you want to use. If they can't stand alone as a subject header then they aren't your subject...follow?

H1's on you pages are used to catch a reader's eye. Usually, it's used for titles and of course, a Heading part on your webpage.

Is it bad to use it a lot of times? Not really. However, the page you're making will appear dirty and unconstructed if you do this. It's all up to you on how you'll use it. It's just my point of view.

You MAY use multiple H1 tags on a page (if you have divided your page into segments) , BUT it is advised to use it only once for the most prominent title of the content.

H1 should be used for the most important content or heading, H2 the next most important, then H3 etc.

As long as the word is important and a must see in your website. Do not over use it to none sense words or phrases use bold or italic instead

Default H1 heading and style sheets

While an H1 heading has long been a "flag" for the search engines regarding content prioritization, the reality is using an H1 tag does not necessarily mean the text between has to be the biggest and boldest on the page.

Using either inline or external style sheets allows you to modify your H1, h2, h3 tags for font-related specs, like color, size, etc. and doesn't change the tag itself.

I do this often and have not seen any negative affects on page optimization.

Peace and prosperity.

Use H1 tags only once. Use style sheets for formatting even though a search engine may not use this tag in your title or description proper content tags are used in the evaluation of the page content and are calculated as part of the relevance of the page to the topic.
