If there is a negative comment towards your business or product, rather than ignoring or deleting the comment you should respond. The response should include a sincere apology and a suggested solution. You need to show some appreciation for a customer who not only purchased something from you, but also follows your social media. You should show that you have heard and understand the complaint and that you want to do something to fix it. Handling negative comments effectively is important. That frustrated customer can turn into a very happy customer willing to tell their friends what great customer service you have and how much you care.

Unfortunately the internet is filled with those who feel the only way
they can elevate themselves is by stepping on someone's head.

For me, it depends on what site I am on. I have deleted and they
LOVE that... they will friggen chase you down and whine on every
post. Face the situation head on, but not defensive. Agree to
disagree but more importantly if you're wrong, thank them.

Sometimes we post stuff that is not correct. It happens. Own it
if it does. That is respectable. If it is just a schmuck, allow him
to rant and others will come to your aid.

It is important to distinguish between a dissatisfied customer and a Troll who is just flaming for pure entertainment. Customers concerns should always be given top priority and resolved quickly. Trolls often bait a war so they can sit back and watch the fireworks, without actually participating themselves. If someone is being nasty for no reason the best approach is to simply ignore them and not reply at all.

There is no such thing as negative advertisement.

I absolutely agree, if a negative review seems legitimate you should respond to it promptly and thoroughly.
