Default Question For Businesses That Accept Credit Cards

I've been looking in to different ways to advertise for my business( credit card processing). I thought I would ask you guys since most of you accept credit cards already. I was curious on how you came about your Merchant Service Provider? Did they call you? Did you call them? How did you find them? What helped you decide to go with that provider?

All answers are greatly appreciated

I use the combination of eOnline Data and Authorize.net -- both have been fine to work with and I've had no problems. One caution -- something I learned the hard way -- be careful what you set our average purchase at -- make sure it is high enough to cover multiple purchases. If you get a large purchase and it is above the "limit" you set for your self, you have to jump through hoops to get that increased or they may hold funds. I don't know if that is unique to these providers or not, probably not.

god luck

Have you explored bank partnerships? Or accounting software partnerships?
I ask because those were the first two places I looked. I looked at my bank's offering since it was a natural tie to by business bank account. I looked at my accounting software's Quickbooks Online) offering since there was another natural tie. I ended up going with the Quickbooks partner (Innovative Merchant Solutions) as their rates were better.

I realize these partnerships may be more of a longshot, but you may find some small local banks or lesser known accounting software providers that are just getting started...

good luck.
