Thumbs up Recession Survival- 2 Businesses Sharing 1 Rent

Hi all,
Although we all must have felt the renewed energy in the air after the inauguration this week, now we as small businesses owners need to be creative & try to find ways to survive these rough economic times. A concept that continues to stand out in my mind after much thought, is " 2businesses that offer the same services, fairly close in location, that are separately paying 2 probably high rents joining forces an operating the 2 businesses under 1 roof and then split the rent & utilities in 1/2. Cost efficient in terms of over head expenses. Many other details would have to be worked out of course, so that both / all parties would be satisfied & comfortable, but I'd like some feedback as to the idea itself. Also if anyone has had experience with this concept feedback of positive & negative response would be welcomed & appreciated. We are located in the Bergen County area of NJ. Please feel free to offer any constructive comments.
Thank you all in advance.

Are you trying to share the expenses with your competitor(s) ?
I don't think it's a good idea.

I think it'll be better to share the expenses with a company that offers different services. You can think of a company that you can *exchange* clients so both clients and you will actually double the profits if you manage to exchange your clients.

That's just an idea.
Good Luck.
