Default Hiring An In-house SEO Analyst Vs SEO Agency

I know SEO is an essential part of any digital strategy, so I am thinking of hiring an in-house SEO analyst or a SEO agency. What do you think is the best thing to do? What is the benefit of hiring an agency and what is the value of having in-house SEO employees?

I somehow agree with Humancare because you can actually do SEO on your own but if you have the budget for SEO then go for it. Hiring a SEO company with many years of experience will be able to evaluate your website, your goals, and your competitors and create a comprehensive plan to increase your visibility in search. They’ll be able to track your progress and adjust their plans to ensure you’re on the right path to achieving the best results, no matter how long that takes.

Would suggest you to Hire an In-House SEO Analyst. Most of the SEO agencies using automation tools & they don't following White Hat strategies.

You could hire an Analyst & learn SEO from the Analyst. Then you can do it yourself.

If you want to hire someone, an in-house SEO employee will do because you can personally monitor its process compared to agencies that are usually not presenting their method but just promising you higher rankings.

I think it will be good if you are hiring SEO expert in house if you have know something about SEO. SEO Agency may be too costly in comparison to hiring SEO expert.

ITs very rare to find good SEO people now days. I run an digital marketing company with 9 people but i dont think even one is qualified to DO seo(Me and my partner handle that) . With that said SEO is no long about back links its about web design(user experience), web architecture (Quality of hosting and code) and if you get all this bang on then its about getting the right back links.

SEO is probably the hardest thing to do. We as a company no longer sell SEO but Sell SEO training and consultancy as we help business who have been shooting in the dark identify direction.

I hope this makes sense.

Another thing I want to share from experience is that it took me 7 years to figure out how seo works and now that I am one of the best consultants worldwide I am confident that most single minded employees dont understand SEO. They will just find ways to show you something that is not solid.

My Advise to you is this:

First : Figure out if SEO is worth it to you. What is the end goal will it bring you 10 times the profit you put in.

Try and purchase a basic subscription to ahref.com and spend 2 months in trying to learn how to use
site explorer
keyword explorer and
content explorer
SERP tracker

Then once these stats are making sense to you hire a SEO expert in house or out it does not matter.

Good luck

I'll go with SEO agency option.

Just like @mindmyweb said, if you want to hire in-house, it's very difficult to find good SEO people. If any, they would probably already work for SEO agencies, which eventually makes you hiring an SEO agency.

Yes, the option of hiring SEO agency could be costly, but so what as long as you can afford it?

You cannot monitor the whole progress? Just same like hiring in-house, I believe you're too busy with your business that you also cannot monitor how your in-house employee works.

The other issue with inhouse I've seen is that the seo only has a view of rankings and algorithm updates from the perspective of a single company website. A seo agency may work on dozens of different websites and be able to apply tactics that a single individual may not be aware of as easily. There's pluses and minuses - both ultimately require a good relationship with one solid person who knows what they are doing and cares enough to put a strong and persistent effort towards the project.

I assuming that you don't manage your Google analytics account yourself either? I would advise that you if your going to hire someone in, that you get someone with good Google Analytics experience and build from there. This person will thence skilled to develop and manage everything from your SEO to your Adwords strategies...and most important, will be able to set correct goals and assess the performance from your Google Analytics data.
