The odds a business will want to advertise on your vehicle, and the amount they will pay, will depend a lot on where your vehicle is seen.

If you live in a subdivision where most cars are parked in garages, alleys, or off the street, your time at home won't interest them.

The same applies to where you park when at work.

If you work out of your car, making sales calls, deliveries, etc, it might be more appealing to them, but then why advertise for them instead of your own business (unless you do film pick-up and deliveries across a wide region).

Someone who lives and drives in LA, Houston, St. Louis, or other metro areas will have better prospects than someone in Cut and Shoot, TX, Hope, AR, or Ottumwa, IA.

As for where to look - check out the others who have private vehicles wrapped with advertising graphics. That same company may be looking for additional exposure - as long as you park and drive in different areas most of the time.

I had a magnetic sign on the side of my car and received a couple of calls. This time I'm getting a display ad placed on my back window, so hopefully this will send traffic to my website.

I don't, but this was my idea a long time ago. Apparently a lot of people are doing this. Driving around my neighborhood, it seems like 1 in every 40 or 50 cars has an advertisement, as opposed to a few years ago when this was rare. Was there a sale on car magnets or stickers or something?

My husband drives a big white van with the company name and phone number on it. He travels all over Andalucia (Southern Spain) in it and it generates a lot of interest. Not bad for free advertising

I remember talking to an overseas marketing friend (somewhere in South East Asia). When they had an event last 2006, their initial and expected number of attendees is around 3,000. What they did was 2-3 weeks before the event they rented out 5 buses with a complete wrap-around sticker on it. The buses they rented have 3 different routes but all of these buses passes one major highway and the venue of their event.

Come event day, they had 6,000+ attendees.

but in 2004 they launched a similar campaign advertising their website to increase the brand awareness and eventually member acquisition. The result wasn't that good.

So I think, it's safe to say that wraparounds are an effective means of advertising but I think its really advisable to consider who are the people that will see those ads and what is the message you're trying to sell. You can shoot this idea if I don't make any sense but I think it'll be best to know the routes that the bus will take and try to see the demographics of the market who are most likely will see your ad.

Hola

Funny this should come up because the other day I was stuck in traffic with a white van in front of me advertising kennels, as were at a red light and I was behind I got my Blackberry out and took a photo so I could look them up, I think these days with more and more ways of quickly taking images (you can now buy cars with cameras all around and at the push of a button take an image) vehicle advertising might just get more benefit.

This is the first time I have ever done that but as I really wanted more information on the kennels, a quick photo was ideal.

I agree that most people donīt write during driving and this would be dangerous anyway but with our fab funky phones we donīt have to

Thats actually I good idea, I would not have thought of taking a picture like that.
Otherwise, I was going to say that although I've never taken down a phone number from an ad on a vehicle, I did remember the name of the company once enough to look it up in the yellow pages.

It is not a unique way of advertising. Advertisements on vehicles are already used before. They also call it as non-tradiotional advertising. Advertisers use trucks with large print ads attached at it's array before and now. I think it will be very effective to place ads on vehicles because anyone can see those advertisements while waiting.
